Apparently a mission can be impossible. The mission to release number 7 and number 8 in the Mission Impossible franchise has been delayed yet again.
So I sat down with Tom Cruise to discuss his upcoming movies:
Me: Tom. First off, thanks for taking time with me today to discuss your new movies.
Tom: Talk To Me, Goose.
Me: Hmm. Well then. Sure. The pandemic has made things tough on movie production. Will these movies be released someday?
Tom: Someday. That's a dangerous word. It's really just code for "never".
Me: Never. Okay. Noted. Not what I expected. So, uhm, how quickly then do you think your movies will be released?
Tom: I feel the need. The need for speed.
Me: I, uh, I guess that means they're going as fast as you can. But also maybe never. Let's see. So given the current state of moviegoers, what are your expectations for how many people will see your new movies?
Tom: So this is the world, and there are almost six billion people on it. When I was a kid, there were three. It's hard to keep up.
Me: Uh. This is not going as I had planned. Do you, do you think it will do well at the box office?
Tom: Show me the money!
Me: Tom, I think you're just quoting your character's lines from your past movies.
Tom: If you think, you're dead.
Me: If I think, I'm dead. I, uh, just, what, okay, then, I guess do you have any advice for the hard times people are going through right now?
Tom: Hate to tell you this, buddy, but you have to wear clothes to work. There's a law or something.
Me: Hey, guys. This is getting weird. Let's just end the interview.
Tom: What's done is done when we say it's done.
